📖Sahih al-Bukhari 1902
Narrated Ibn `Abbas: The Prophet (ﷺ) was the most generous amongst the people, and he used to be more so in the month of Ramadan when Gabriel visited him, and Gabriel used to meet him on every night of Ramadan till the end of the month. The Prophet (ﷺ) used to recite the Holy Qur’an to Gabriel, and when Gabriel met him, he used to be more generous than a fast wind (which causes rain and welfare).
- This hadith, recorded in Sahih al-Bukhari, narrates that Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) was known for his exceptional generosity, and this characteristic was even more pronounced during the month of Ramadan. It is said that the angel Gabriel would visit the Prophet every night of Ramadan, and during these visits, the Prophet would recite the Qur’an to Gabriel. Furthermore, when Gabriel visited the Prophet, his generosity would increase even more, to the point where he was described as being “more generous than a fast wind.” This means that the Prophet’s acts of kindness and giving were so abundant and swift that they were comparable to the quick and abundant blessings that come with a gust of wind that brings rain and prosperity.
