Creation of Pairs In Quran
Quran 36:36
Exalted is He who created all pairs (Or “all species.”) – from what the earth grows and from themselves and from that which they do not know.
Quran 30:21
And among His signs is that He created for you from yourselves mates that you may find tranquility in them; and He placed between you affection and mercy. Indeed in that are signs for a people who give thought.
- The Quran emphasizes that Allah has created pairs in all aspects of life, not just in the context of marriage and family. This concept of pairs represents balance and harmony in the universe and is mentioned in various verses of the Quran. From a scientific perspective, we know that there are many examples of pairs in nature, such as male and female organisms in many species, positive and negative charges in atoms, and so on. However, the Quranic verse is not meant to provide a detailed scientific explanation of these phenomena, but rather to illustrate the idea that everything in the universe has its complementary counterpart, which together form a harmonious whole.

- All matter is in pairs. This was known recently, however this was portrayed in the Quran 1400 years before it was discovered. In biology, a pair bond is the strong affinity that develops in some species between a mating pair, often leading to the production and rearing of offspring and potentially a lifelong bond. There are many examples of complementary and paired phenomena in the natural world that have been scientifically observed and studied. Here are a few examples:
- Male and Female Organisms: Many living organisms reproduce sexually through the pairing of male and female individuals. This is observed across a wide range of species, from plants to animals. The pairing of male and female organisms is critical to the survival and continuation of many species.
- Positive and Negative Charges: The interaction of positively and negatively charged particles gives rise to electricity and many other important physical phenomena. This is observed in everyday life, such as when we use electrical devices, and it is also studied in detail in the field of physics.
- Left and Right Handed Molecules: In chemistry, many molecules have a “handedness” or chirality, meaning they can exist in two mirror-image forms. These mirror-image forms are often complementary to each other and play important roles in chemical reactions and biological processes.
- Matter and Antimatter: In particle physics, matter and antimatter are complementary opposites. When matter and antimatter come into contact, they annihilate each other and produce energy.
These are just a few examples of complementary and paired phenomena in the natural world that have been scientifically observed and studied. The concept of pairs or complementary opposites is a fundamental principle in many areas of science.

In addition, the Quran also encourages men to treat their wives kindly and with respect, and to be patient and forgiving with them. And it encourages women to be obedient and respectful towards their husbands. In short, Islamic teachings in Quran encourages marriage as a sacred bond between a man and a woman where both partners should be kind, respectful, and supportive of each other, and where the relationship should be built on mutual love, compassion and trust.
