đź“–Sahih al-Bukhari 5351
Narrated Abu Mas`ud Al-Ansari: The Prophet (ﷺ) said, “When a Muslim spends something on his family intending to receive Allah’s reward it is regarded as Sadaqa for him.”
- The Hadith means that when a Muslim spends money on their family, which includes both immediate and extended family members such as grandparents, aunts, uncles, cousins, etc., with the intention of seeking Allah’s reward, it is considered an act of charity for them. The Hadith emphasizes the importance of fulfilling one’s responsibilities towards their family while also seeking the pleasure of Allah and rewards in the Hereafter.
