📖Sahih al-Bukhari 6516
Narrated `Aisha: The Prophet (ﷺ) said, “Do not abuse the dead, for they have reached the result of what they have done.”
- This hadith narrated by Aisha, the wife of Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him), emphasizes the importance of respecting and refraining from speaking ill of the deceased. The Prophet (peace be upon him) taught that once a person has passed away, they have already faced the consequences of their actions in this world and will be held accountable by Allah in the Hereafter. Therefore, it is not permissible to insult, mock, or abuse the deceased, as this goes against the principles of Islamic ethics and shows disrespect towards the deceased and their loved ones. The hadith encourages Muslims to maintain a high standard of behavior even after someone has passed away and to focus on making dua and seeking forgiveness for them instead.
