Sahih al-Bukhari 6569
Narrated Abu Huraira: The Prophet (ﷺ) said, “None will enter Paradise but will be shown the place he would have occupied in the (Hell) Fire if he had rejected faith, so that he may be more thankful; and none will enter the (Hell) Fire but will be shown the place he would have occupied in Paradise if he had faith, so that may be a cause of sorrow for him.”
- Meaning: In Sahih al-Bukhari 6569, Abu Huraira narrated that Prophet Muhammad (ﷺ) explained that when a person enters Paradise, they will be shown the place they would have occupied in Hell if they had rejected faith. This is intended to increase their gratitude to Allah for the blessing of faith and the salvation from Hell. On the other hand, when a person enters Hell, they will be shown the place they would have occupied in Paradise if they had believed, which will cause them sorrow and regret for not embracing faith. This hadith emphasizes the contrast between Paradise and Hell, highlighting the importance of gratitude for faith and the consequences of disbelief. It serves as a reminder to be thankful for the gift of faith and to strive to avoid disbelief in order to attain Paradise and avoid Hell.
