Sahih al-Bukhari 6014
Narrated `Aisha: The Prophet (ﷺ) said “Gabriel continued to recommend me about treating the neighbors Kindly and politely so much so that I thought he would order me to make them as my heirs.
- This hadith, reported in Sahih al-Bukhari, highlights the importance of treating one’s neighbors with kindness and respect. The Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) states that the angel Gabriel repeatedly advised him to be kind and polite to his neighbors to the extent that he thought he would be commanded to make them his heirs, meaning that he would have to give them a share of his property upon his death. This hadith emphasizes the significance of good neighborly relations in Islam, and encourages Muslims to be compassionate, helpful, and considerate towards their neighbors. Muslims are taught to extend their kindness and hospitality to their neighbors, regardless of their religion or background. By doing so, they not only fulfill their duty as Muslims but also foster a sense of community and harmony in the society.
