Jami` at-Tirmidhi 2002
Abu Ad-Dardh narrated that the Messenger of Allah said: “Nothing is heavier on the believer’s Scale on the Day of Judgment than good character. For indeed Allah, Most High, is angered by the shameless obscene person.”
- This hadith (saying of the Prophet Muhammad) emphasizes the importance of having good character and conduct as a Muslim. According to the hadith, good character is the heaviest thing that will be weighed on the Day of Judgment, which is the day when every individual will be held accountable for their deeds and will be rewarded or punished accordingly. The weight of good character on the scales of judgment indicates its significance in the eyes of Allah, the Most High. The hadith also highlights that Allah is displeased with those who lack modesty and decency in their behavior and speech, as such behavior is contrary to the teachings of Islam.
