📖Sahih Muslim 408
Abu Huraira reported: The Messenger of Allah (ď·ş) said: He who blesses me once, Allah would bless him ten times.
- In this context, “blesses me” refers to sending blessings upon the Prophet Muhammad, which is known as “salawat” or “salutations.” It is a way of showing love, respect, and reverence for the Prophet. The Hadith indicates that when a person sends blessings upon the Prophet Muhammad once, Allah will bestow tenfold blessings upon that individual in return. It emphasizes the importance and rewards of expressing love and admiration for the Prophet Muhammad. Sending blessings upon the Prophet Muhammad is a common practice among Muslims, and it is often done by reciting a specific prayer called “Salawat upon the Prophet.” Muslims believe that by sending blessings upon the Prophet, they can attain spiritual benefits, closeness to Allah, and the Prophet’s intercession on the Day of Judgment. Therefore, this Hadith encourages Muslims to engage in the act of sending blessings upon the Prophet Muhammad, highlighting the immense rewards and blessings promised for such an action.
