📖Sahih Muslim 807 a
‘Abd al-Rahman b. Yazid reported: I met Abu Mas’ud near the House (Ka’ba) and said to him: A hadith has been conveyed to me on your authority about the two (concluding verses of Surah al-Baqara. He said: Yes. The Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) (in fact) said: Anyone who recites the two verses at the end of Surah al-Baqara at night, they would suffice for him.

From this hadith (Sahih Muslim 807a), we learn the following:

  1. Abu Mas’ud confirmed that he heard a hadith directly from the Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) regarding the concluding two verses of Surah al-Baqara (the second chapter of the Quran).
  2. According to the hadith, the Prophet (peace be upon him) stated that reciting these two verses at night is sufficient for the person reciting them. This implies that the recitation of these verses carries great significance and rewards.
  3. The hadith highlights the spiritual value and blessings associated with reciting the concluding verses of Surah al-Baqara. It suggests that reciting these verses before sleeping or during the night can have immense benefits for the individual reciting them.

Overall, this hadith emphasizes the importance of reciting and reflecting upon the Quranic verses, specifically the two concluding verses of Surah al-Baqara, and indicates that reciting them at night can be a means of attaining spiritual rewards and blessings.
