Hadith: Mutual Acceptance of Fasting and Breaking Fast During Travel

📖Sahih Muslim 1118 a
Humaid reported that Anas (Allah be pleased with him) was asked about fasting during Ramadan while travelling. He said: We travelled with the Messenger of Allah (ï·º) during the month of Ramadan, but neither the observer of the fast found fault with the breaker of the fast, nor the breaker of the fast found fault with the observer of the fast.

  • This hadith from Sahih Muslim 1118 a indicates that during travel, if someone is unable to fast due to the challenges of the journey, it is acceptable and there is no criticism or fault-finding from those who are observing the fast. It emphasizes the understanding and tolerance among the companions of the Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) regarding the individual circumstances of travelers and their ability to fulfill the obligation of fasting during Ramadan.
