Hadith on Arguments: Cruelty and Harsh Arguments

đź“–Sahih Muslim 2668
Aisha reported: The Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, said, “Verily, the most hated man to Allah is the one who is fiercest in an argument.” (2:204)

  • This Hadith emphasizes the importance of maintaining good manners and treating others with respect, even during disagreements or debates. Muslims are encouraged to engage in constructive discussions with an open mind and a willingness to listen to others’ perspectives. They should avoid using harsh language, raising their voices, or becoming overly defensive during an argument. Furthermore, this Hadith teaches that humility is a key aspect of the Islamic character. Muslims should strive to be humble in their interactions with others, and avoid seeking to dominate or overpower them in discussions. By doing so, they can avoid being among the most despised individuals in the sight of Allah.
