📖Sahih al-Bukhari 676
Narrated Al-Aswad: That he asked `Aisha “What did the Prophet (ﷺ) use to do in his house?” She replied, “He used to keep himself busy serving his family and when it was the time for prayer he would go for it.”
- This hadith highlights the exemplary character of Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) regarding his conduct in his household. He would engage himself in serving his family and fulfilling their needs, and would only leave for prayer when the time for it arrived. Muslims can learn a lot from this hadith. Firstly, it emphasizes the importance of serving one’s family and fulfilling their needs, which is a crucial aspect of leading a pious life in Islam. It also highlights the Prophet’s (peace be upon him) humility and his ability to balance his worldly responsibilities with his spiritual obligations, demonstrating the importance of leading a balanced life. Moreover, this hadith also teaches us the significance of punctuality in offering prayers. Even while attending to his household duties, the Prophet (peace be upon him) would not delay his prayer when it was time for it. This underlines the importance of fulfilling our religious obligations and prioritizing them above all other activities.
In summary, this hadith serves as a powerful reminder for Muslims to prioritize their family and religious obligations, and to strive for balance in their daily lives.
