Hadith on Muhammad: The Prophet’s Mission of Mercy, Not Cursing

📖Sahih Muslim 2599
Abu Huraira reported it was said to Allah’s Messenger (ﷺ): Invoke curse upon the polytheists, whereupon he said: I have not been sent as the invoker of curse, but I have been sent as mercy.”

  • The meaning of this narration is that the Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) was a messenger of Allah, sent to guide people towards the path of righteousness and to show them the way to salvation. His mission was not to invoke curses upon others or to spread hatred, but to convey the message of peace, love, and mercy to all humanity. Therefore, instead of cursing and condemning people, the Prophet (peace be upon him) showed kindness, forgiveness, and compassion even towards those who were hostile towards him. He taught his followers to follow his example and to treat others with kindness and compassion, regardless of their beliefs or actions.
