📖Sahih al-Bukhari 7282
Narrated Hammam: Hudhaifa said, “O the Group of Al-Qurra! Follow the straight path, for then you have taken a great lead (and will be the leaders), but if you divert right or left, then you will go astray far away.”
- This Hadith from, Sahih al-Bukhari 7282, is a statement made by Hudhaifa to a group of Qurra (reciters of the Quran) urging them to follow the straight path and avoid deviation to the right or left. Although this Hadith is not directly from the Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him), it is considered an authentic Hadith, as it has been transmitted through a reliable chain of narrators. Additionally, the Hadith is consistent with the teachings of the Quran and the Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him), which emphasize the importance of following the straight path and avoiding deviation. In the Quran, Allah repeatedly urges believers to follow the straight path, saying, “And indeed, this is My straight path, so follow it; and do not follow [other] ways, for you will be separated from His way” (Surah Al-An’am, verse 153). Furthermore, the Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) also emphasized the importance of following the straight path in his teachings and actions. He said, “Verily, this Qur’an is the straight path, so follow it and do not deviate from it” (Musnad Ahmad).
In summary, the Hadith reinforces the importance of following the straight path and avoiding deviation, which is a fundamental teaching in Islam based on the Quran and the Prophet Muhammad’s (peace be upon him) teachings Qur’an 57:9.
