Hadith on Wudu: The Importance of Ablution and Day of Judgement

đź“–Sahih al-Bukhari 136
Narrated Nu`am Al-Mujmir: Once I went up the roof of the mosque, along with Abu Huraira. He perform ablution and said, “I heard the Prophet (ﷺ) saying, “On the Day of Resurrection, my followers will be called “Al-Ghurr-ul- Muhajjalun” from the trace of ablution and whoever can increase the area of his radiance should do so (i.e. by performing ablution regularly).’

  • This hadith narrates the importance of performing ablution regularly for the believers. Abu Huraira, while performing ablution, narrates that the Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) said that on the Day of Resurrection, his followers will be called “Al-Ghurr-ul-Muhajjalun,” which means “those with bright faces and limbs” due to the traces of ablution on their bodies. This indicates the importance of cleanliness and hygiene in Islam, not only for the physical but also for the spiritual well-being of a believer. By performing ablution regularly, one can increase the area of their radiance and be among the blessed ones on the Day of Judgment. This hadith also emphasizes the importance of following the Sunnah (the practices and teachings of the Prophet Muhammad) in everyday life, including the act of performing ablution regularly.
