What will happen on the Day of Judgement according to Islam?

In Islam, it is believed that God is just and merciful, and that everyone will be held accountable for their actions on the Day of Judgment. It is also believed that God is merciful and will not punish anyone beyond what they deserve. According to Islamic belief, non-Muslims who have not heard the message of Islam and have not had the opportunity to embrace it will not be punished for their lack of belief. Instead, they will be judged based on their deeds and the guidance that they have received in this life. However, for non-Muslims who have heard the message of Islam and have deliberately chosen not to follow it, the situation may be different. In Islam, it is believed that every person has been given the opportunity to accept or reject the message of Islam, and that those who reject it after having heard it may be held accountable for their actions on the Day of Judgment. According to Islamic belief, non-Muslims who have not heard the message of Islam and have not had the opportunity to embrace it will not be punished for their lack of belief. Instead, they will be judged based on their deeds and the guidance that they have received in this life.

It is important to note that the belief in the Day of Judgment and the way in which people will be judged is a matter of faith and is not based on scientific evidence. It is a central belief in Islam, and it is seen as a way for Muslims to live their lives in accordance with the teachings of their faith.

When your Lord brought forth descendants from the loins of Adam’s children, and made them testify concerning themselves (saying) AM I NOT YOUR LORD ? they replied :we bear witness that you are…..(this he did so ) so that you should not say on the Day of Judgment that we had no knowledge of this.

Sahih International
They ask you, [O Muhammad], about the Hour: when is its arrival? Say, “Its knowledge is only with my Lord. None will reveal its time except Him. It lays heavily upon the heavens and the earth. It will not come upon you except unexpectedly.” They ask you as if you are familiar with it. Say, “Its knowledge is only with Allah , but most of the people do not know.

📖Mark 13:32-33
But about that day or hour no one knows, not even the angels in heaven, nor the Son, but only God, Be on guard! Be alert! You do not know when that time will come.

📖Quran 17:85
And they ask you about the soul. Say: The soul is one of the commands of my Lord, and you are not given aught of knowledge but a little.

Say, “To Allah belongs [the right to allow] intercession entirely. To Him belongs the dominion of the heavens and the earth. Then to Him you will be returned.

📖Quran 34:23
And intercession does not benefit with Him except for one whom He permits. [And those wait] until, when terror is removed from their hearts, they will say [to one another], “What has your Lord said?” They will say, “The truth.” And He is the Most High, the Grand.

That Day, no intercession will benefit except [that of] one to whom the Most Merciful has given permission and has accepted his word.

📖Quran 10:3
Indeed, your Lord is Allah , who created the heavens and the earth in six days and then established Himself above the Throne, arranging the matter [of His creation]. There is no intercessor except after His permission. That is Allah , your Lord, so worship Him. Then will you not remember?

📖Quran 17:79
And in part of the night, O Messenger, stand and pray, so that your prayer increases your rank, and seeking for your Lord to raise you to the praised station (ie, Maqaam Mahmood) on the Day of Judgment, as an intercessor for the people from the horrors of the Day of Judgment, and so that you attain the position of the great intercession, for which the first and last will praise you.

📖Quran 93:1-4.
By the morning brightness – And [by] the night when it covers with darkness, Your Lord has not taken leave of you, [O Muhammad], nor has He detested [you]. And the Hereafter is better for you than the first [life].

📖Quran 4:1
O mankind, fear your Lord, who created you from one soul and created from it its mate and dispersed from both of them many men and women. And fear Allah , through whom you ask one another, and the wombs. Indeed Allah is ever, over you, an Observer.

📖Quran 100:6-11
Indeed mankind, to his Lord, is ungrateful. And indeed, he is to that a witness, And indeed he is, in love of wealth, intense – But does he not know that when the contents of the graves are scattered – Indeed, their Lord with them, that Day, is [fully] Acquainted.

📖Quran 59:19-21
And be not like those who forgot Allah , so He made them forget themselves. Those are the defiantly disobedient – Not equal are the companions of the Fire and the companions of Paradise. The companions of Paradise – they are the attainers [of success]. If We had sent down this Qur’an upon a mountain, you would have seen it humbled and coming apart from fear of Allah . And these examples We present to the people that perhaps they will give thought.

He is Allah , other than whom there is no deity, Knower of the unseen and the witnessed. He is the Entirely Merciful, the Especially Merciful – He is Allah , other than whom there is no deity, the Sovereign, the Pure, the Perfection, the Bestower of Faith, the Overseer, the Exalted in Might, the Compeller, the Superior. Exalted is Allah above whatever they associate with Him – He is Allah , the Creator, the Inventor, the Fashioner; to Him belong the best names. Whatever is in the heavens and earth is exalting Him. And He is the Exalted in Might, the Wise.

📖Quran 20:114
So high [above all] is Allah , the Sovereign, the Truth. And, [O Muhammad], do not hasten with [recitation of] the Qur’an before its revelation is completed to you, and say, “My Lord, increase me in knowledge.”

📖Quran 23:116
So exalted is Allah , the Sovereign, the Truth; there is no deity except Him, Lord of the Noble Throne.

Say, “O Allah , Owner of Sovereignty, You give sovereignty to whom You will and You take sovereignty away from whom You will. You honor whom You will and You humble whom You will. In Your hand is [all] good. Indeed, You are over all things competent.

Blessed is He in whose hand is dominion, and He is over all things competent – [He] who created death and life to test you [as to] which of you is best in deed – and He is the Exalted in Might, the Forgiving –

📖Quran 2:114
Sahih International
And who are more unjust than those who prevent the name of Allah from being mentioned in His mosques and strive toward their destruction. It is not for them to enter them except in fear. For them in this world is disgrace, and they will have in the Hereafter a great punishment.

📖Quran 6:93
And who is more unjust than one who invents a lie about Allah or says, “It has been inspired to me,” while nothing has been inspired to him, and one who says, “I will reveal [something] like what Allah revealed.” And if you could but see when the wrongdoers are in the overwhelming pangs of death while the angels extend their hands, [saying], “Discharge your souls! Today you will be awarded the punishment of [extreme] humiliation for what you used to say against Allah other than the truth and [that] you were, toward His verses, being arrogant.

📖Quran 54:46-47
But the Hour is their appointment [for due punishment], and the Hour is more disastrous and more bitter – Indeed, the criminals are in error and madness.

📖Quran 39:9
Surely, the religion (i.e. the worship and the obedience) is for Allaah only. And those who take Awliyaa’ (protectors, helpers, lords, gods) besides Him (say): ‘We worship them only that they may bring us near to Allaah.’ Verily, Allaah will judge between them concerning that wherein they differ. Truly, Allaah guides not him who is a liar, and a disbeliever.

And never think that Allah is unaware of what the wrongdoers do. He only delays them for a Day when eyes will stare [in horror].

📖Quran 2:123
And fear the Day (of Judgement) when no person shall avail another, nor shall compensation be accepted from him, nor shall intercession be of use to him, nor shall they be helped.

Surely the Hour is coming up-I would almost conceal it-that every self may be recompensed for whatever it endeavors (to achieve).

[The time of] their account has approached for the people, while they are in heedlessness turning away.

📖Quran 80:33-42
But when there comes the Deafening Blast – that Day a man will flee from his brother, and his mother and his father, and his wife and his children. For each one of them that Day will have enough preoccupations of his own. Some faces, that Day, will be bright – laughing, rejoicing at good news. And other faces, that Day, will have upon them dust. Blackness will cover them. Those are the disbelievers, the wicked ones.

And the moon is dimmed,and the sun and the moon are brought together,(They both will rise from the west and lose their light.) on that Day one will cry, “Where is the escape?”But no! There will be no refuge. On that Day all will end up before your Lord.

Indeed, the death from which you flee – indeed, it will meet you. Then you will be returned to the Knower of the unseen and the witnessed, and HE will inform you about what you used to do.

📖Quran 99:1-8
When the earth is shaken with its [final] earthquake And the earth discharges its burdens And man says, “What is [wrong] with it?” – That Day, it will report its news Because your Lord has commanded it. That Day, the people will depart separated [into categories] to be shown [the result of] their deeds. So whoever does an atom’s weight of good will see it, And whoever does an atom’s weight of evil will see it.

📖Quran 3:91
Indeed, those who disbelieve and die while they are disbelievers – never would the [whole] capacity of the earth in gold be accepted from one of them if he would [seek to] ransom himself with it. For those there will be a painful punishment, and they will have no helpers.

Indeed, your Lord will judge between them on the Day of Resurrection concerning that over which they used to differ.

And do not pursue that of which you have no knowledge. Indeed, the hearing, the sight and the heart – about all those [one] will be questioned.

The Day every soul will find what it has done of good present [before it] and what it has done of evil, it will wish that between itself and that [evil] was a great distance. And Allah warns you of Himself, and Allah is Kind to [His] servants.

And fear a Day when you will be returned to Allah . Then every soul will be compensated for what it earned, and they will not be treated unjustly.

for you know very well that the day of the Lord will come like a thief in the night, While people are saying, “Peace and safety,” destruction will come on them suddenly, as labor pains on a pregnant woman, and they will not escape.

📖Isaiah 47:11
Therefore evil will come upon you; you will not know from where it rises, and mischief will fall upon you; you will not be able to put it off, and desolation will come upon you suddenly, [which] you will not know

📖Quran 89:21-22
And you love wealth with immense love,No! When the earth has been leveled – pounded and crushed, And your Lord has come1 and the angels, rank upon rank.

Therefore be also ready, for the Son of man comes in such an Hour as you do not think. Who then is a faithful and wise servant, whom his lord has made ruler over his household, to give them meat in due season?

Allah states in the Qur’ān that He has certain attributes such as hearing, sight, hands, face, mercy, anger, coming, encompassing, being above the Throne, etc. Yet, He has disassociated Himself from the limitations of human attributes or human imagination. Correct Islāmic belief requires faith in the existence of these attributes as Allah has described them without applying to them any allegorical meanings or attempting to explain how a certain quality could be (while this is known only to Allah) and without comparing them to creation or denying that He (subḥānahu wa taʿālā) would have such a quality. His attributes are befitting to Him alone, and “There is nothing like unto Him. ?

[He is] Creator of the heavens and the earth. He has made for you from yourselves, mates, and among the cattle, mates; He multiplies you thereby. There is nothing like unto Him,(There is no similarity whatsoever between the Creator and His creation in essence, in attributes or in deed.) and He is the Hearing, the Seeing.

📖Quran 17:1
Exalted (Above any imperfection or failure to do as He wills.) is He who took His Servant [i.e., Prophet Muḥammad (ﷺ)] by night from al-Masjid al-Ḥarām to al-Masjid al-Aqṣā, (In Jerusalem.) whose surroundings We have blessed, to show him of Our signs. Indeed, He is the Hearing, (Who hears every sound, distinguishes every voice, understands every word, and accepts and responds to supplications.) the Seeing.(After Seeing add ftnt: Who sees and understands all things apparent and unapparent, visible and invisible.)

And when the trumpet is blown with a single blast, and the earth and the mountains are removed from their places, and crushed with a single crushing, then on that Day shall the (Great) Event befall.

Indeed in that is a sign for those who fear the punishment of the Hereafter. That is a Day for which the people will be collected, and that is a Day [which will be] witnessed.

And they say, “When is this promise, if you should be truthful?” If those who disbelieved but knew the time when they will not avert the Fire from their faces or from their backs and they will not be aided, Rather, it will come to them unexpectedly and bewilder them, and they will not be able to repel it, nor will they be reprieved.

There is no one in the heavens and earth but that he comes to the Most Merciful as a servant, He has enumerated them and counted them a [full] counting. And all of them are coming to Him on the Day of Resurrection alone.

And [warn of] the Day when We will remove the mountains and you will see the earth prominent, and We will gather them and not leave behind from them anyone.

When the sun is wrapped up [in darkness], And when the stars fall, dispersing, And when the mountains are removed, And when full-term she-camels are neglected, And when the wild beasts are gathered, And when the seas are filled with flame – And when the souls are paired, And when the girl [who was] buried alive is asked For what sin she was killed, And when the pages are made public, And when the sky is stripped away – And when Hellfire is set ablaze – And when Paradise is brought near, A soul will [then] know what it has brought [with it].

Then when the Horn is blown with one blast, And the earth and the mountains are lifted and leveled with one blow – Then on that Day, the Resurrection will occur, And the heaven will split [open], for that Day it is infirm. And the angels are at its edges. And there will bear the Throne of your Lord above them, that Day, eight [of them]. That Day, you will be exhibited [for judgement]; not hidden among you is anything concealed.

And the Horn will be blown, and whoever is in the heavens and whoever is on the earth will fall dead except whom Allah wills. Then it will be blown again, and at once they will be standing, looking on.

And of his signs is the creation of the heavens and earth and what He has dispersed throughout them of creatures. And He, for gathering them when He wills, is competent.

And to Allah belongs the dominion of the heavens and the earth. And the Day the Hour appears – that Day the falsifiers will lose – And you will see every nation kneeling [from fear]. Every nation will be called to its record [and told], “Today you will be recompensed for what you used to do, This, Our record, speaks about you in truth. Indeed, We were having transcribed whatever you used to do.

So as for those who believed and did righteous deeds, their Lord will admit them into His mercy. That is what is the clear attainment.

Then as for he who is given his record in his right hand, He will be judged with an easy account, And return to his people in happiness.

So as for he who is given his record in his right hand, he will say, “Here, read my record! Indeed, I was certain that I would be meeting my account, So he will be in a pleasant life – In an elevated garden, Its [fruit] to be picked hanging near. About the criminals – [And asking them], “What put you into Saqar?” They will say, “We were not of those who prayed,. Nor did we used to feed the poor. And we used to enter into vain discourse with those who engaged [in it], And we used to deny the Day of Recompense.

And when it was said, ‘Indeed, the promise of Allah is truth and the Hour [is coming] – no doubt about it,’ you said, ‘We know not what is the Hour. We assume only assumption, and we are not convinced – And the evil consequences of what they did will appear to them, and they will be enveloped by what they used to ridicule. And it will be said, “Today We will forget you as you forgot the meeting of this Day of yours, and your refuge is the Fire, and for you there are no helpers – That is because you took the verses of Allah in ridicule, and worldly life deluded you.” So that Day they will not be removed from it, nor will they be asked to appease [ Allah ].

But as for he who is given his record in his left hand, he will say, “Oh, I wish I had not been given my record, And had not known what is my account. I wish my death had been the decisive one. My wealth has not availed me – Gone from me is my authority – [ Allah will say], “Seize him and shackle him, Then into Hellfire drive him, Then into a chain whose length is seventy cubits insert him, Indeed, he did not used to believe in Allah , the Most Great, Nor did he encourage the feeding of the poor, So there is not for him here this Day any devoted friend – Nor any food except from the discharge of wounds. None will eat it except the sinners.

But as for he who is given his record behind his back, He will cry out for destruction, And [enter to] burn in a Blaze.

The Day they are dragged into the Fire on their faces [it will be said], “Taste the touch of Saqar.

[From] the Lord of the heavens and the earth and whatever is between them, the Most Merciful. They possess not from Him [authority for] speech – The Day that the Spirit and the angels will stand in rows, they will not speak except for one whom the Most Merciful permits, and he will say what is correct. That is the True Day; so he who wills may take to his Lord a [way of] return.

And there is no creature on [or within] the earth or bird that flies with its wings except [that they are] communities like you. We have not neglected in the Register a thing. Then unto their Lord they will be gathered.

And We place the scales of justice for the Day of Resurrection, so no soul will be treated unjustly at all. And if there is [even] the weight of a mustard seed, We will bring it forth. And sufficient are We as accountant.

Then indeed you, O those astray [who are] deniers – Will be eating from trees of zaqqum – And filling with it your bellies, And drinking on top of it from scalding water, That is their accommodation on the Day of Recompense.

Say, “Who has forbidden the adornment of Allah which He has produced for His servants and the good [lawful] things of provision?” Say, “They are for those who believe during the worldly life [but] exclusively for them on the Day of Resurrection.” Thus do We detail the verses for a people who know.

[The Day] when Allah will say, “O Jesus, Son of Mary, remember My favor upon you and upon your mother when I supported you with the Holy Spirit and you spoke to the people in the cradle and in maturity; and [remember] when I taught you writing and wisdom and the Torah and the Gospel; and when you designed from clay [what was] like the form of a bird with My permission, then you breathed into it, and it became a bird with My permission; and you healed the blind and the leper with My permission; and when you brought forth the dead with My permission; and when I restrained the Children of Israel from [killing] you when you came to them with clear proofs and those who disbelieved among them said, “This is not but obvious magic.

📖Quran 5:116-119
And [beware the Day] when Allah will say, “O Jesus, Son of Mary, did you say to the people, ‘Take me and my mother as deities besides Allah ?’” He will say, “Exalted are You! It was not for me to say that to which I have no right. If I had said it, You would have known it. You know what is within myself, and I do not know what is within Yourself. Indeed, it is You who is Knower of the unseen – I said not to them except what You commanded me – to worship Allah , my Lord and your Lord. And I was a witness over them as long as I was among them; but when You took me up, You were the Observer over them, and You are, over all things, Witness. If You should punish them – indeed they are Your servants; but if You forgive them – indeed it is You who is the Exalted in Might, the Wise. Allah will say, “This is the Day when the truthful will benefit from their truthfulness.” For them are gardens [in Paradise] beneath which rivers flow, wherein they will abide forever, Allah being pleased with them, and they with Him. That is the great attainment.

📖Quran 5:120
To Allah belongs the dominion of the heavens and the earth and whatever is within them. And He is over all things competent.

📖Quran 54:49-53
Sahih International
Indeed, all things We created with predestination – And Our command is but one, like a glance of the eye. And We have already destroyed your kinds, so is there any who will remember? And everything they did is in written records – And every small and great [thing] is inscribed.

Indeed, We have warned you of a near punishment on the Day when a man will observe what his hands have put forth and the disbeliever will say, “Oh, I wish that I were dust!.

And to Allah belong the best names, so invoke Him by them. And leave [the company of] those who practice deviation concerning His names. They will be recompensed for what they have been doing.
