Sahih al-Bukhari 3482
Narrated `Abdullah bin `Umar: Allah’s Messenger (ﷺ) said, “A lady was punished because of a cat which she had imprisoned till it died. She entered the (Hell) Fire because of it, for she neither gave it food nor water as she had imprisoned it, nor set it free to eat from the vermin of the earth.”
- This Hadith from Sahih al-Bukhari, one of the most authentic collections of Hadith in Islam, and it narrates an incident in which a woman was punished by Allah’s Messenger (peace be upon him) for mistreating a cat. According to the Hadith, the woman had imprisoned a cat without providing it with food or water until it died, which led to her punishment in Hell.
