📖Sahih al-Bukhari 5534
Narrated Abu Musa: The Prophet (ﷺ) said, ‘The example of a good pious companion and an evil one is that of a person carrying musk and another blowing a pair of bellows. The one who is carrying musk will either give you some perfume as a present, or you will buy some from him, or you will get a good smell from him, but the one who is blowing a pair of bellows will either burn your clothes or you will get a bad smell from him.”
- This hadith emphasizes the importance of being mindful of the company we keep and how it can impact us. It is important to seek the company of pious and righteous individuals who will inspire and guide us towards goodness, while avoiding the company of those who may lead us astray. Choosing good companions can have a positive influence on our lives, while bad companions can have a negative impact on our character and behavior. Therefore, we should be careful in selecting our friends and associates and strive to surround ourselves with people who will help us grow spiritually and morally.
