Hadith on Hope: Hope for Good from Allah at Time of Death

📖Sahih Muslim 2877 c
Jabir b. ‘Abdullah al-Ansari reported: I heard Allah’s Messenger (ﷺ) say three days before his death: None of you should die but hoping only good from Allah, the Exalted and Glorious.

  • This hadith narrated in Sahih Muslim 2877c highlights the importance of having hope and relying on Allah (SWT) in all circumstances, especially at the time of death. Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) advised his companions that they should always have a positive outlook towards Allah (SWT) and expect only good from Him, even when facing death. This hadith teaches us to have faith in Allah’s mercy and forgiveness, and to trust in His plans for us. It also reminds us that death is an inevitable part of life, and that we should prepare for it by living a righteous life and constantly seeking Allah’s forgiveness. By doing so, we can hope for a good end and a positive outcome in the Hereafter.
